Winter News, not Blues

February, not April, is the cruelest month.

Cold, no respite. Not even a hint of snow melt.
Here in the Northeast, the colors are often just white and black if you can see the pavement.
Yet hope is out there, hiding under the snow. A metaphor for what might be hiding inside your space.
Inside is where we have been despite the occasional foray into the great icy outdoors to pick up a package, walk the dog or cat for a brief moment. Then back inside and what do we see?
Lots of stuff that has piled up due to a visit to Amazon, holiday gifts that haven't been attended to, stockpiles of food now looking a bit like overkill. Newspapers and magazines and mail that has grown like the white stuff out our windows.
Do not despair. Think of this as an outgrowth of confinement and an opportunity to confine and address what has piled up like the snow out there.
Yes, some shoveling is necessary but if we do it in small pieces of a room, it becomes almost fun as we uncover what is really important to us.
So go for it at your pace and remember, Spring is just 6 weeks or so away and then what will we see as we venture outside to discover what Nature has kept safe for us over this frigid winter. The roots of hope.
